Dart Music International Artist Membership

Dart Music International (DMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to increase cross-cultural awareness throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma by minimize the financial and logistical burdens of our member artists. We help decrease costs for our Artist Members while increasing opportunities for audience exposure and income. The International musicians we work with are newer, independent artists and labels who represent a unique artistic / cultural perspective. We evaluate applicants artistic ability, cultural representation, professional standing, and financial need in determining whether to extend an annual Artist Membership.

We charge an annual fee in order to help us defray our costs related to the services provided to the artist. Where there is financial need, we can evaluate the costs along a sliding scale. Acceptance as a DMI artist will never be based upon ability to pay. There are three basic levels of Artist Membership:

Tier I, $5,000:   Immigration assistance, booking, promotion through our web sites, marketing through direct contact with press & media, merchandising through local music stores, discounted lodging with hotels and/or volunteers offering free housing, discounted van rental, discounted equipment rental, other discounts through our partners, use of our mailing address as necessary, priority inclusion in DMI events.

Tier II, $3,000:   Immigration assistance,promotion through our web sites, andreferrals to our partners for booking, marketing, rentals, and other services. Also includes use of our mailing address as necessary, and potential inclusion in DMI events.

Tier III, $1,500:   Promotion through our web sites and referrals to our partners for booking, marketing, rentals, and other services. Also includes use of our mailing address as necessary, and potential inclusion in DMI events.

Depending on the level of services required, the amount of savings realized can be several thousand dollars. Simply by working through our immigration partner, Tamizdat, and applying for VISAs and setting travel reservations several months in advance, the average band will save several thousand dollars. Thousands more are saved through our negotiated discounts on lodging, equipment rentals, merchandising, and other services. Working with DMI also increases the likelihood of a favorable application for a performing artist work VISA, which then allows for potential income through merchandise sales and paid performances.
