Dart Music International

Dart Music International Artist Membership

Dart Music International (DMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive music business services for the purpose of bridging the cultural divide. We offer a broad range of services to musicians, record labels, artist management, etc. to make it possible for them to perform and tour in our region while helping make connections with local musicians, labels, and businesses get placed and promoted around the world. The international musicians we work with are generally newer, independent artists and labels who represent a unique artistic / cultural perspective. We have experience working with artists from all over the world.

As the manager for the Irish rock band We Should Be Dead, I had the opportunity to work closely with Dart Music International during March, 2009. They booked concert dates in Texas and New Mexico for our tour from Los Angeles to Austin and back. We were able to realize cost savings and revenue that literally made it financially possible for us to attend the festival because of the money we earned at these shows.
- Arthur Alexander, Manager, We Should Be Dead

The services we offer and the cost savings achieved by our bands make it financially possible for many of them to come here. These services include direct support and assistance with immigration, planning, logistics, localization, publicity, and management.

A proper work visa is required of all international performers who come to the US with the intention of playing any paying gigs or festivals where tickets are sold. Our immigration services (agent letter, proposed itinerary, supporting documentation, and partnership agreements) can save thousands of dollars and greatly increase the likelihood of receiving the desired work visa.

The complications and special situations involved with international travel require careful long-range planning. In order to achieve maximum savings and have the best opportunities for a successful tour we require 4-6 months between the time we sign with an artist and their first proposed appearance. This allows us to realize discounts and savings on transportation, accommodations, rentals, and localization services.

Imagine how much easier it is to have a branch office when visiting from overseas. With Dart Music International our artists get access to our office facilities, legal support, and marketing/publicity. Management services like tour support, venue coordination, booking agents, rehearsal/recording facilities, merchandise creation and distribution, and local showcasing are also available.

We enjoy a very good personal and professional relationship with Dave, and Dart Music International. Dave has referred artists and potential interns to me, and The Still is a featured "Ally" on their website. I intend to continue working with Dart Music International on future projects and appreciate their insistence on using local Austin businesses such as ours in their effort to bring together the cultures of Texas and the rest of the world.
- Randall Squires, Chief Engineer, The Still Recording Studio

We charge a modest annual fee, based on financial need and services provided in order to help us defray our costs. Acceptance as a DMI artist is never based upon ability to pay. Artists and labels may apply for an annual Artist Membership in DMI by completely filling out the form below. We consider applicants' artistic ability, cultural representation, professional standing, and financial need in determining whether to extend an annual Artist Membership. You may also email Dave Dart copies of any press, publicity, or any other relevant information that is not available on your website(s). We will evaluate your information and, if we can help, will contact you right away.
