Some of our favorite bands are touring through our region this fall.
Viva City are dropping in for dates on October 28, 29, & 30 after ripping it up
at CMJ in New York City. And
The Jefferson are going to be in our area from October 26 to November 2
as they work their way across the country from Nashville to New York and back to the West Coast.
We are also hosting a listening party and happy hour on November 8 at Momo's to celebrate the release of "Higher", the first official US single by
Polly Mackey & the Pleasure Principle. In addition to checking out the new
song, we will also have live performances by Lauren Burton and DJ: The Adam. Find our more and RSVP on the

To celebrate the US release of "Higher", DMI hosted a FREE listening party at Momo's in Austin. The CD single officially released in the US on
November 9, so this was an opportunity to get your hands on the song before the rest of the country. This is the first international release for
Polly Mackey & the Pleasure Principle, and we marked the occasion with CD
giveaways and listens to the new song as well as the previous two EPs.
BUT WAIT... THAT'S NOT ALL!
Lauren Burton, a friend of Polly's and one Austin's rising stars,
played a couple of sets. And all the way from Denmark (by way of
The House of Songs),
DJ: The Adam, spun some great rock & roll to round out your
Monday happy hour.

On Tuesday, March 16 we hosted another outstanding showcase of great international indie rock bands at our
3rd Annual Dart Music International Night at Friends on Sixth Street. Six bands, Five continents, and One common language -
rock & roll! This is was strongest lineup yet, with some of the most important bands from the emerging Chinese and Central European music
scenes, Latin Rock giants, and college radio chart-toppers. Two of the bands, Bang Bang Eche and Carsick Cars, have even been picked up by
MTV Iggy as two of
"The 25 Best New Bands In The World".
From Thursday, March 11 through Sunday, March 21 we hosted or co-hosted FREE daily events at the

The DMI House was THE destination for top shelf indie bands from Austin and around the world, spanning the entire duration of the SXSW

Doors opened at 9:00PM, and we featured music from P.K.14 (China), L.Stadt (Poland), The Ganjas (Chile), and AV Okubo (China).
The Beijing Invasion was a historic Chinese film and

Beijing Taxi and introduction to the Beijing music label Maybe Mars. Film maker Miao Wan introduced the film
trailer and discussed her important, groundbreaking film, which was featured at the SXSW Film Festival. Maybe Mars label representatives Nevin Domer
and Charles Saliba were be on hand to talk about the challenges inherent in running a cutting-edge Chinese indie music label and we had
performances by P.K.14, Carsick Cars, AV Okubo, White, and Xiao He. Doors were open to SXSW badge-holders and
Dart Music International VIPs at 8:00PM and opened to the public at 10:00PM.
As everyone attempted to recover and/or get ready to leave town, we enjoyed our last day at the DMI House with
Sunday Bloody Sunday. Starting at noon we had Bloody Mary
specials, tamales, and music until 8:00 from Xiao He, Miho Wada, Polly Mackey & the Pleasure Principle, The Butterfly Explosion, The Last Tycoons,

As the SXSW Festival came upon us, and as usual we were busy introducing great bands from all over the world.
To kick off the week, we had a VIP Reception at our office at 711 San Antonio St. for our neighbors and
Dart Music International VIPs.
Chilean Indie-rockers
Intimate Stranger performed an "ambient" set out on
the back porch (weather permitting). We welcomed them and our other very special guests from the bands
AV Okubo,
Casino,
The Ganjas,
L.Stadt, and
P.K.14 on their first night in Austin.
All the bands then headed downtown at 9:00 for shows at the
Dart Music International Welcome Party at the
