Dart Music International presents:
Polly Mackey & the Pleasure Principle Listening Party
with Lauren Burton and DJ The Adam
To celebrate the US release of "Higher", DMI hosted a FREE listening party at Momo's in Austin. The CD single officially released in the US on November 9, so this was an opportunity to get your hands on the song before the rest of the country. This is the first international release for Polly Mackey & the Pleasure Principle, and we marked the occasion with CD giveaways and listens to the new song as well as the previous two EPs.
BUT WAIT... THAT'S NOT ALL!
Lauren Burton, a friend of Polly's and one Austin's rising stars, played a couple of sets. And all the way from Denmark (by way of The House of Songs), DJ: The Adam, spun some great rock & roll to round out your Monday happy hour.
DETAILS:
When: Monday, November 8 - 5:00-7:45PM
Where: Momo's, 618 W. 6th Street (

Polly Mackey & the Pleasure Principle
"After watching Polly MacKey's sound check it was apparent to me that she must have the word "talent" written through her like a stick of rock, the
sheer quality of her song writing and her amazing voice are the first thing that strike you about this girl... I have to admit if this is the sort of quality
song writing she is able to produce at 18, it's frightening to think just how good she may become."
- Andy Von Pip, Alt Sounds
"... Drawing upon an impressive lineage of empowered female frontpersons - from such classic rockers as Maggie Bell and Ann Wilson to the punk
and new wave era's Patti Smith and Chrissie Hynde, and onward to the contemporary milieu's Alison Mosshart and Sharin Foo - Mackey and her
band deliver the hi-nrg powerpop goods with an impossible-to-ignore panache and vivacity. Not for nothing did we pick these Brits as our "Best
Kept Secret" for March (2009 SXSW). But they won't be a secret much longer. "

"Lauren Burton is an emerging singer/songwriter, currently living and attending college in the Austin area. She's really pretty damn good, and might
just make something for herself in this crazy music business. For now, she has a gig at Momo's coming up and you'd be silly to miss it."

The Disc Jockey plays only noisy Peter Belli rock and never gives more than you can take. The beat of the music will pull barbed wire through your ears
so you can no longer dance a twist without thinking of DJ: The Adam!
Adam will be in Austin writing songs with local musicians at
The House of Songs.
